Emended diagnoses of four Cretaceous rhynchonellid genera

In the present paper emended diagnoses of the Cretaceous rhynchonellid genera Cyclothyris, Cretirhynchia, Septatoechia and Orbirhynchia are proposed. They are based on detailed study of the outer and inner shell structure and shell microstructure of forty-eight taxa from the Upper Cretaceous in Bulgaria taking into account the established broad variation of the generic diagnostic characteristics.

В настоящей работе предложены исправленные диагнозы меловых ринхонелидных родов Cyclothyris, Cretirhynchia, Septatoechia и Orbirhynchia. Диагнозы основаны на детальном исследовании внешних и внутренних скелетных элементов и микроструктуры раковинны сорока восьми таксонов из верхнего мела на територии Болгарии и учитывают установленную широкую изменчивость родовых диагностических признаков.
